King Earthquake Infos

Errol Arawak is a veteran of English dub culture. In 1977, he founded the King Earthquake sound system, with which he humbly battled the remaining Youthman sound systems of the time until the mid-1980s, when he took a temporary break.

In the early 2000s, he established his own label, releasing some of the greatest stepper classics from the 2000s an English, digital and vibrant drift from Jamaican dub in the style of Scientist that was transformed and made popular in England by Jah Shaka’s sound system, and that would later inspire Mala and company to build the genre that would become known as dubstep.

In parallel with his first releases, King Earthquake started playing all over the world, turning his sound system into one of the great digital dub culture references.

At Rivoli, he will present himself at the wheel of Mystic Fyah, a still young, but powerful Portuguese sound system, celebrating the music of the Caribbean diaspora in Europe, starting with a tribute to the metal sounds of dub culture by Favela Discos.
